While well intended, 2A falls short of delivering real solutions for Vails’ affordable housing crisis and doesn’t generate enough tax dollars to address our housing crisis. Additionally, the revenue generated from 2A isn’t legally obligated to go to housing. 2A has no sunset, giving Town Council a blank check on how to spend funds, and there’s no citizen’s oversight to guarantee these tax dollars will be spent as promised.

2A favors large corporate hotel chains over small business owners who live in Vail. During these tough economic times, we can’t afford another Booth Heights challenge that hurts our community. Vail deserves a real plan, citizen’s oversight of tax dollars, and a level playing field for our local businesses.

Vote NO on 2A. Vail deserves a better path forward. Tell Town Council to go back to the drawing board and create a housing solution that works for Vail families, workers, and businesses.
